Sasa from Sarajevo, Bosnia, leaves this ancient capitol due to the turbulent ethnic conflict when only 16 and alone. From here he moves to Banja Luka, another small city in Bosnia, then Belgrade, Serbia and soon Calgary, Canada.
He is a graduate with a BFA in fine arts, drawing, from the Alberta College of Art & Design, Calgary. Here he has explored many mediums and notions trying to solidify his career in only one medium.
After getting his education he works for a number of clients, creating everything from music covers, to posters, T-shirts, catalogues, websites, photos as well as fine art work that is seen around Canada. Along being a freelance artist Sasa worked as a senior creative director at a small design studio VC&D. During the 2 years at this studio he has worked on many projects, in many mediums, most notably 3D animals used in a made for TV movie on the life of Michael Jackson.
Along this job Sasa worked at a local music shop, where he filed zillion CDs, DVDs and Books weekly. This job gave him an opportunity to create a number of wining in store promotional displays for some of the local and international artists. Tragically Hip, Chemical Brothers, U2, Janet Jackson to name a few and a Canada wide design competition for Kyle Minogue's comeback album, Fever. First place, trip to Paris and a chance to meet Kylie was a great reward for a display on a budget.
More recently Sasa found himself in Tokyo, working as an art teacher, illustrator, T-shirt and 3D designer. He continues to work independently creating artwork for a number of clients in the fashion, theatre and NGO fields as well as his own line of apparel.
He walks the streets of neon like Tokyo absorbing its sounds and sights collecting it all into his cardboard messenger bag of ideas.
